Learn by doing!
compressor teardown get your hands on it! students build operating hvac/r units learn electrical wiring by doing it.
In just 11 weeks of intensive, hands-on ACR night school "Boot Camp", we take you from ground zero, through all the major components, basic electrical wiring and controls of commercial Air Conditioning/Refrigeration systems.  You'll learn how to high temperature silver braze with both oxy/acetylene and air/acetylene torches and how to do all flaring and tubing operations.  You'll take apart major components including compressors, valves, metering devices, oil separators, accumulators, receivers and other accessories to learn in detail how they work.

Each student learns electrical wiring, starting with the basics and then progressing to wiring real systems as you would find them in the field (14 acceptable ways).

Each team of two students builds and wires a complete working HVAC system. The unit is constructed to current mechanical code and pressure-tested to 360 psig.  It then is properly charged with refrigerant by the student.

The shop/classroom has 12 fully equipped workbenches that have more than enough tools, test instruments and equipment for hands-on learning.

The class is 90% hands-in training, resulting in a high placement rate.

This class is for those students wishing to get started in this field and who don't have the luxury of attending a 1 to 2 year day class program.

ACR Boot Camp is one of the most intense programs of its type in the U.S.

Timid students should not apply.

How is our training different from many other schools?

Many schools believe that when a student takes written notes as an instructor speaks of his experience, somehow the instructor's experience becomes the student's experience. We believe that the best way to learn is to physically work on projects that make the subject matter come alive. After the student has worked and "Put his brains on his fingertips," then the student can more readily understand and retain the information because of his firsthand experience and working knowledge.

Noted educators have found that students remember 5% of what they hear and over 90% of what they do. To learn more, do more. That is why our classes are focused toward hands-on training.
